Software optimization for the Salary Guide

We have optimized the software and turned the previous Salary Checker into the modern Salary Guide with new features and a fresh design.

Software rethought, app optimized

Tasks

An app relaunch was to refresh the old »Salary Checker«. Thanks to our expertise, we quickly understand business processes and discover potential where it is often not suspected. So the »Salary Checker« was rethought and redeveloped as a »Salary guide« with as little PM effort as possible.

Result

The Salary Guide supports customers with their salary structure and salary policy, creates salary transparency, enables cost calculations and integrates salary comparisons in all regions of Austria, many industries and company sizes. This means that the web-based, optimized software combines all BWI solutions and supports customers with salary policies, salary comparisons and salary systems.

Our services

Requirements catalog for job evaluation

In the admin area of the optimized app, users can create requirement catalogs with several requirement types. They define criteria, values and weighting for each requirement type. These values form the basis for the job evaluation. The job or function evaluation is crucial for the correct positioning and comparability of all jobs and market data in the background.

3 Anforderungsarten

Classification plans and tree overview

BWI employees can configure classification plans in the admin area, to which they assign job families, model functions and model positions. The information is displayed in a clear tree structure.

4 Konfiguration

Evaluation of model jobs

Once a classification plan has been created, each model job is evaluated manually or with the help of a guide. The guide leads the user step by step through the catalog of requirements and thus determines the requirement value for the model position.

faster handling of customer onboarding.

EU-compliant wage transparency

One of the biggest highlights of the software optimization: With the salary transparency feature, the new Salary Guide overtakes the old Salary Checker. It was implemented in accordance with EU directives (2023/970), which Austria must implement by 2026. BWI customers can already deal with this in the Salary Guide and prepare for the future obligation to provide information on the gender pay gap.

Salaries in market comparison

Since the app optimization, a scatter plot with boxplots gives users a feeling for actual and market salaries. The distribution of salaries can be seen broken down by BWI grade, and a staircase curve shows whether the salaries are within the desired range.

The salary distribution per grade can be evaluated using a box plot. There are various filters at employee level, for example to evaluate employees by age group or experience level.

The scatter chart offers numerous settings for comparing salaries with market and target income.

Classification plan as the centerpiece

The classification plan is the central element of the new salary guide. It provides information about the company's job landscape and shows how it is structured.

The smallest unit is the model jobs, which are combined into a model function, such as »Middle management«, and then grouped by the higher-level job family.

Various information can be queried in the wage guide: Headcount, full-time equivalent and which employee:s work in individual model jobs or grades. The information is queried either as a percentage or in absolute terms in the respective grade, individually or in relation to the job family.
