UX Design

A good project starts with a solid plan

User experience design (UX design) combines business goals with the needs and requirements of users. You can think of designing a software project like planning a house: Only when the plan for all trades has been drawn up and meets the expectations of the client does the implementation begin.

UX design makes decisions easy

During the design process, we lay the foundations for the project. We talk shop about UX research, workflows, wireframes, UI design and usability testing. These are process steps that help us to make solid decisions in the committee based on data and visual results.

The design process is the right time to try out different solutions and test them with real users. This is because we can iterate very quickly in design and adapt the ideas to the needs and requirements of the users. This creates orientation, provides security and sets the direction.

»UX design helps us to plan correctly right from the start and to develop our projects with the user in mind. The process has enabled us to discover many issues and find a solution at an early stage.«

What does UX design involve at Fusonic?

UX design is part of our software development and at the same time an independent area. This gives you the advantage of being able to use each process step as a separate service.

UX Research
UX research means that we use data, interviews and observations to identify backgrounds, bottlenecks and potential.
Conception
We develop concrete solutions and coordinate them with the technical possibilities in order to combine user needs and business requirements.
Interface design
In the visual presentation of the solution, we pay particular attention to ease of use, accessibility and information hierarchies.
Usability testing
We use click dummies to test the solution with users in a real environment, thereby increasing acceptance and obtaining valuable feedback.
UX strategy consulting
Using best-practice examples, empirical values and an external perspective, we are at your side with answers and recommendations for action for all questions regarding conception and design.

Current references with a design focus

Our UX designers are characterized by their technical understanding. You can see the influence this has on the software solution in these two references.

Step by step to the goal

We divide our design process into several stages and use the interim results to discuss possible solutions and further steps with you. The great thing about this is that we are very flexible, especially at the beginning of the design process, and can design and evaluate different solutions within a very short time.

We concentrate on the broad outline at the beginning and only go into detail when the approach makes sense for everyone involved. This enables us to reduce both costs and lead times to a minimum.

Our design process

We deliver a result after each stage.

UX Research
In order to understand the background and close knowledge gaps on both sides, we conduct inventory analyses, interviews and surveys.
Workflows
We record the workflows in flow charts so that the individual work steps and deviating scenarios are clear to everyone.
Wireframes
Wireframes provide an initial insight into the structure of the pages. We also use these to clarify the content of the pages.
User interface design
In this step, we create a design system with a component library and design guidelines. Roughly speaking, the content from the wireframes is finalized with a view to accessibility.
Prototyping
In preparation for the usability tests and for a better understanding of interactive elements and processes, we link the finalized elements to a prototype. In doing so, we concentrate on a specific usage scenario.
Usability testing
We use usability tests to ensure that the designed solution hits the nail on the head. User feedback helps us to develop the solution as close to reality as possible.

Advantages of UX design

In UX design, different variants are tested so that the right decisions are made with great certainty and the most effective solution is developed.

Maximum ROI
Errors are identified and rectified at an early stage in the design process. This means that revision costs are reduced and the return on investment is maximized.
Fast time-to-market
Clear specifications from the UX design process shorten the development time and make it possible to get to market faster.
Optimization of processes
UX design helps to identify and improve inefficient processes, which streamlines and accelerates workflows within the company.
Fewer revision costs
Errors are identified and corrected during the design process, avoiding costly adjustments later during the development phase.
Lower training costs
A user-friendly design means that less training is required as employees can intuitively learn how to use the solution.
Reduction in support requests
An understandable user interface reduces the number of errors and misunderstandings, resulting in fewer support requests and lower internal costs.
High satisfaction
User-friendly design ensures less frustration in day-to-day work and thus increases the satisfaction of your employees.
Increased productivity
Satisfied employees who work with effective and user-centered tools are more motivated and productive. They perform better and feel more comfortable at work.
Acceptance by stakeholders
When processes and outcomes are better visualized through UX design, stakeholders better understand the impact of design decisions and are more inclined to support them.
Let’s create something great together.
